Dear Satyasarathi, I am also a recruiter and know that SAP is one of the profiles topping the list of a higher number of fake CVs. Hence, your question is quite valid. One of the tips to identify fake CVs is that a wider area of work is covered in the CV. Moreover, you may invariably go for antecedent verification checks.

If you hire freshers, then why do all fake experience certificates come up? All companies are hiring for at least 2 years of experience. I just want to ask you all one question here: how can a candidate gain experience in SAP if he is not hired as a fresher?

You are right, Mr. Santosh, and I agree with you, but we are here talking about adding fake experience (FAKE PROFILE/CV/RESUME). There is no one who was never a fresher in his/her life; we all have started from zero. Being a fresher, one has to give a start to his/her career based on strong education and understanding of a subject/field, which is a basic requirement. If one starts his/her career by adding fake experience to their profile, they can do so, but how will they gain actual and practical experience? You are also well acquainted with this. Do not take this as a "FRESHER" issue; it is a beginning, which is not a crime.
Who told you that freshers can't get placed or can't get any good job? I guess you forget about campus recruitment, where not a single experienced candidate can be found.
SAP Profile Requirements
For an SAP profile, I want to say here that one needs to earn the required qualifications first and enhance his/her skills so that they can present a strong candidature to recruiters.

I cannot understand why you are so defensive and offensive about fake resumes. It actually poses a headache to recruiters and companies. Training costs escalate. Kindly take cognizance of the matter and advise accordingly. Kindly control the urge to be judgmental. Try to keep a neutral view of things.
First Steps to Addressing Fake Resumes
First, as far as the problem goes, you might go for a background verification post-selection of the candidate/existing employees, the depth of which depends on the level/position. There are companies that will assist you in this.
In case you cannot afford them, you can always verify what is on the resume by seeking references from their previous organization. You can ask them to fill a reference check form and have it sent through email. Where there are bulk hires, it's best to outsource this job.
Second, a small aptitude test/practical demonstration will go a long way to catch the fakers. If you are working as a recruitment consultant, you may collaborate with your client on how to catch such candidates.
Thirdly, if the skill set is an absolute prerequisite for the job, then any remaining apprehensions can be removed in the interview (recommended to seek the client's help).
Lastly, it's not easy to catch all the fakes at the same time. They keep innovating, so even you need to innovate. Try to look for data inconsistencies and probe them in an interview. Most liars will generally flounder.

Hey, I have faced fake candidates, and I know the pain. You are right, using a fake resume is indeed wrong. However, Sathyasarthi may be new in HR and might be facing the same problem in identifying fake resumes. So, I think before blaming anyone, one should know and make sure what the intention of the other person is. I am sorry if you felt bad about any comments or words in my post.

I think making fake resumes is very wrong. One who has suffered because of it is likely to be offended by it. Anil Arora (Lucky) might have thought that Sathyasarthi is looking for sample fake SAP resumes, so he is being judgmental, though it is wrong. However, his concern is right. He might have phrased it differently to clarify the intentions of Sathyasarthi. I am sorry if any of my words, comments, or intentions in this post hurt you.

Anil, being a senior member, you need to reply appropriately. I don't think the person who raised this post is out of his/her mind. There are definitely many fake resumes, and by asking this question, we may just find out and contribute to ideas that help us identify fake resumes. Nothing personal, but the moment I read the start "Are you out of your mind?" I asked the same question to you. I don't think the person has raised any unethical question. CiteHr also has posts of love, and if that is acceptable, a question about fake resumes is definitely much more important and relevant to HR practices.

Well, I'm not surprised to see this kind of big support for this Fake Resume/Profile. A number of people are in this favor and never realize their mistakes, but now I can only wish and pray for all of you to understand what is right and what is wrong for you. God Bless You.

Identifying Signs of a Fake Resume
The discussion was raised to find out the signs in a fake resume. Here are a few of the points:
- The areas covered are broad and wordy, without being specific and data-oriented.
- Operational details will be few.
- There is a propensity to push the resumes for a higher level of responsibility than what the designation says.
- The client-oriented information would be minimal.
- There are tall claims about accomplishments.
- The technical skills shared would differ from what the individual shares in the introductory phone call. Most of the time, individuals don't remember what they have put in the resumes.
In case there are more technical ways to test, please share.

I am coming late to this discussion; however, I wanted to raise a couple of points.
Clarifying the Original Post's Intent
Firstly, there seems to have been some confusion about what the OP was requesting. Like many of you, I initially thought that he/she was up to no good. However, I am now inclined to the view that the OP is in a recruitment role and was looking for ways to identify fake resumes. These are the problems when English may not be your strong point, and you cannot adequately explain what it is you are seeking.
On that point, it behooves everyone, even those of us who profess to have good English skills, to make sure that we frame our requests and questions in an unambiguous manner. If English is not your strong point, try to have someone else check your question first before posting it.
Identifying Fake Experience on Resumes
Secondly, identifying fake experience on resumes is not easy. (Cite Contribution) has posted some good suggestions that may help.
I have no direct experience of recruiting technical people, but in areas where I have worked, all such candidates were given a technical interview and practical test first.
The Importance of a Proper Recruitment Process
For those of you who follow my posts on CiteHR, you will note that in recruitment questions, I always say that you MUST have a proper position description and person specification for the job. From that, you will know the mandatory requirements and skill level the prospective candidate must have. From that, you sift through the applications and find the most suitable people to interview. The questions you ask MUST be based on the PD and PS. So many people on this site are constantly asking for lists of generic questions. THAT WILL NOT WORK. Questions must relate solely to the position on offer. That way you get the person you need who has the appropriate skills and qualities.
Unfortunately, you will never eliminate cheating. People are desperate to find jobs, and lying on resumes is now a worldwide problem. But if you have a proper, robust recruitment process in place and follow it to the letter, you can minimize the problems and hire the right staff for your organization.

Can we please refrain from getting into a slanging match here people. I think most of us are now agreed as to what the OP was asking. Let’s comment on that topic only from now on. Thank you.
