Can a six months pregnant women get a new job easily ? Please advise? Thanks Sunita

I am totally agreed with the comments of Mr. Naresh.
few points i would like to share with you:
1. Your responsibility will enhance much more if u appoint a 6 month pregnent female.
2. Kindly refer your organisations Standing Order.
3. Its not good for pregnent women & her pregnency to work / risk her would be baby. u can advice her / councel her.
4. It may invite several other facilities also to provide her, which may not be under your policy.

Dear sunita
there is no boundation in any law which says pregnant women should not be given job but generally no one will appoint six month pregnant women
because after 2 months of joining she will go on maternity leave than what employer will gain from her joining.

Hello Sunita,
Your wording says that this pertains to YOU, rather than a situation you are facing in office.
But whichever way it is, pl note the following aspects, though I am not sure of the legal position:
It's more to do with practicalities than the law.
1] Like Malik mentioned, the organisation wouldn't be able to utilise her services in-toto.
2] Like Rathore mentioned, the risk for the lady & the unborn child will be very high in this period-medical reasons. The worst-case scenario would be a miscarraige--in which case the chances of complications in all future pregnancies raise drastically. Whether this will actually occur isn't the point--would the lady be ready for such a worst-case scenario?
However high the necessity of doing a job, usually no lady likes [nor should she, in my view] taking chances when it comes to such issues. If such a situation occurs, look for a different solution than joining a job.

Dear Sunita,
Every lady employee is eligible for maternity benefits upto two times during the employment. But to avail this benefit an employee requires working for a minimum period of 180 working days.
When you hire a pregnant lady , please keep in mind about this lock in period. Incase the employee do not complete the 180 days criteria, it can be still considered an adhoc or on contract less than 180 days. But this kind of employment would not include the maternity benefit. Hence, this doesn’t help the employee much. But then, this remains a way out only if the position is too important to be left vacant and the talent needs to be hired.

Hi Friends,
There was one women appointeded in our org few months back at that time she was 5 - 6 Months but she was working with us till her 9th month, and even after 1 1/2 months after the new born she resumed to work.
The org jus asked if she could find her home very near to the office so that she could walk home any time if the child needs her mom.
She did so and thus the all three are happy with this...
The org is happy that she could work for the company & Also she could take care of the child, And No much leave is taken by her.
If all other company ask to do this and consider the pregnant women for job.
And to the person replied as above. IF ur mom thought pregenancy is waste then u would've not born in the world. Try to respect other peoples feelings.

I gave interview when i was five month pregnant. And i got selected i step to my sixth month.but i did'nt tell this to my oraganization.when i started to work there,they liked my work and after my eighth month they knew ourself that i am pregnent but after showing my work they offer me i can continue it whenever i want to rejoin that company.Then after sixth month i rejoined there.
So sunita for me it doesnt matter .if u want to work u can join but be careful .it depends what kind of work u are going to do.Do care yourself and BEST OF LUCK.

Dear Sunita,
In this situation, it is clear that there is no need to think deeply in this case because a six months pregnent women's helath already not allowed her to properly work while there is only three months remain to go for maternity and i agree with Mr. Malik and Mr. Rathore's point of view because according to the company's policy its not better for her and for the company too, to appoint and take heavy risk. And according to my study there is no refernce of this case in law or standing order and it will be decided by our own decision.

I even selected in a office when i was 3 months pregnant and even they want me to join but I had regreted because in this situation i cant give my best performance and after 5 months i will be on leave, so i decided i will change my job only after when i will come back from maternity leave.

There is nothing derogatory in this query.
Rather than harsh remarks, such cases deserve to be dealt with more sympathetically.
In fact, you being a woman, I expect you to be more sensitive and pro-active to such issues.

As Human Resource professionals we should be more humane, empathetic and able to visualize several situations, options, conditions etc. while framing or interpreting rules, systems, procedures etc.

Can you not try to think of a situation where a married lady has no parental support/relatives and she has to leave her in-law's house due to some domestic reasons; or is forced to earn a livelihood due to some calamities ???

Though there is no legal bar on employment of pregnant women; employers would generally shy away from employing a lady who is at an advanced stage of pregnancy.

Apart from the perceived work efficiency decrement, it could be due to concern for the safety of the mother and child.

Also, the employee shall not be eligible for Maternity Benefits, under such circumstances.
