Hi All,
The concept of leadership has been much researched and developed over time. It is said that leadership is a skill essential in managing today's organizations. Innumerable questions have been raised about leadership... What is leadership? Who are leaders, and who are their followers? Can leaders be followers? Can we become leaders, or are we born leaders? Are managers and leaders different?
I wish to gain insight into the multifaceted concept of leadership by seeking answers. What do you think? Is it possible to develop leadership competencies in managers to enable them to identify leadership situations and deal with them accordingly?

Don't worry, Sandhya. Leadership is the most misunderstood concept in India. By the term, we mean boldness, self-confidence, and sacrifice. That is what a typical Indian psyche understands from Leadership.
Leadership is a constantly evolving concept. There was a command and control type of leadership until the mid-20th century. But after we gained independence, the concept meant effective management, decision-making, risk-taking, and entrepreneurship. It then slowly evolved to its current understanding of Transformative leadership (Warren Bennis). However, there are also servant leadership, Primal leadership, Transparent leadership, Level 5 leadership, etc.

Hi all!
Actually, leadership is all about being motivated and directing others on the same track. It's about providing self and others with insights towards the practical aspects and the hardcore realities attached to them. It's about leading, providing, and increasing the self-motivation of the ones you lead.
Thank you!
