Yes, if HR tell you to show your EPF passbook or member portal, employment history can be tracked. If your employment history is legit then you don't need to worry about it. Its an employer right to do verification before hiring an employee.

I am looking at a way to track without asking the employee but using UAN number. The issue is we have multiple employees at various locations.. so is there a way that when I put in the UAN number in some govt website I can get the given employees past employment history.
But thanks for the response and please guide further on the same.
