It is good that you are celebrating a birthday every month. You can think of adding the following:
You can get customized greeting cards printed and give them to employees' colleagues to share their wishes. If you have an announcement system, you can use that to wish the employee. You can allow the employee to leave early by a few hours on their birthday. You can also circulate an email wishing him/her.

Hi Priti, we are doing the following in our office for celebrating the birthdays of our staff. Hope it will be helpful to you:
1. E-birthday wishes mail can be sent to them on their birthday.
2. At the end of the month, a birthday cake cutting can be organized for the staff whose birthdays fall in that particular month.
3. Small gifts can be given to them on behalf of all staff during the birthday cake cutting celebration as a token of love. This can be a framed group photo of the colleagues or the particular department staff.
4. The birthday person's photo with a birthday greeting can be put on the company bulletin board; it will make them happy.
5. Cake for the whole office to share during break.
Note: If your company is small, it can be celebrated on behalf of all the staff. But if it's large, one can celebrate in that particular department.

You can do these little things:
1. Invite him/her for a cup of tea or drink and wish him/her best wishes for this wonderful day.
2. Present him/her with a nice printed birthday wish card with a birthday envelope of Rs.____/- on behalf of the management and HR Department as a token of celebration.
3. Grant him/her a short leave of 1 or 2 hours.
By these little things, you can develop a sense of ownership in an employee so they can realize how important they are for this organization.

Please visit their house and greet them with a small gift for their birthday and marriage date. Get to know the employee's background, show empathy, and hope that their family is also happy. Please publish this in the Employee Corner in the office. Additionally, grant 1-hour permission for this purpose.

Hi Preeti,
I work with a sustainable energy company, and we all live in a world experiencing climate change. So, as a birthday present, we have started gifting trees to our employees on their birthday. There is this site Grow Trees, Plant Trees, Gift a tree and help the environment. We grow 5 trees which cost 425 Rs, 85 Rs each, and present an e-certificate to the employee on his birthday. With this, we all play our part in saving our earth.

You can start a surprise on a birthday by putting a personalized note from his HOD/HR Head along with flowers or a small gift at his workplace before he arrives on duty. The note and the gift can be standardized.

Hi Preeti, I worked in a hospitality company. On every birthday, we arranged a cake-cutting ceremony in the presence of all staff, including seniors and the MD of the company (if available). We also simultaneously arranged South Indian/Italian dishes. Everyone celebrated by having cake and dishes together, cracking light jokes, and engaging in discussions. The birthday boy/girl had to sing a song or dance.
In this way, we aimed to create a healthier and friendlier environment.

Unique Birthday Celebration Ideas for the Workplace
Probably, these ideas may be unique but could be implemented if possible and circumstances facilitate them:
1. I like planting trees on a birthday, but the problem is space in the present living conditions—flat life, I mean, in the flats of apartments. Where to plant trees? However, those fortunate enough to have offices in a wide landed area can present a sapling of fruit-bearing trees to the birthday boy/girl and let them plant it in the lawns, putting up a name board on it. Of course, the responsibility of maintaining it would be left to the birthday boy/girl.
2. I don't advocate cutting a cake on a fixed day of the month on behalf of all who celebrate during the entire month. The birthday will be more charming when it's celebrated on the very same day. So, it's nothing wrong if the birthday cake is cut in the office on the very same day with all pomp and show, distributing cake to everyone in the office. Perhaps the family could be invited for a high tea at a convenient time, and maybe the birthday boy/girl will foot the bill.
3. Let some of his/her friends visit their house at midnight and present the cake with a birthday card signed by all colleagues.
4. A team should secretly inquire with his/her spouse/parents about his/her long-felt desires, articles, gadgets, etc., and it shall be presented on his/her birthday (provided it fits within the budget).
5. Could collect photos from his/her birth onwards, prepare a nice album, and present it similar to the release of audio of films.
6. Help a poor boy or girl who could not support their studies, declaring the birthday boy/girl as the sponsor.
7. The HOD and CEO could have lunch with him/her on this day.
8. A gift in the form of an FD maturing on his/her retirement will be likable.

Dear Pritee,
Your idea is praiseworthy but needs a little bit of change. Do you find it appropriate for a couple to decide on a honeymoon for their first wedding anniversary? It's similar to celebrating a birthday at the end of the month. Here's a suggestion - celebrate it either on the previous day after office hours or on the birthday during lunch hour. In that case, make sure to inform colleagues in advance about the celebration. This will bring a real feeling of satisfaction.
Thanks.

Let's take a sample copy of employee birthday cards. Day-wise, make a note of the birthday person and attach the birthday card to their department. Signing that card will help create memories in a simple and better way within my process.

Dear All,
I appreciate all the comments regarding the celebration of the birthday. However, I would like to suggest that instead of spending money on cakes, parties, and other entertainment activities, let's create a new era by giving the individual NSC/Saving certificates/LIC policies/life-saving items, etc., using the funds that would have been allocated for the birthday party.
For the celebration, gather everyone together during tea time, present these gifts, and offer your best wishes.
If you have additional time, consider assembling at a sacred place such as a temple, an elderly care home, a center for disabled individuals, or a children's home to pray for the individual's future or spend time with those in need.
While I haven't been able to do this myself, it's something I aspire to do.
Thank you.
