Hi Karthik,
It depends on the age and the salary of the injured employee at the time of death. If the salary is more than Rs 8000/- per month, it is deemed as Rs 8000/. If it is less than Rs 8000/-, the actual amount is reckoned.
The calculation is as follows: 50% of the salary multiplied by the factor assigned to the age of the employee at the time of death or Rs one lakh, whichever is more.
For example, an employee aged 30 with a salary of Rs 10,000/- who passed away is eligible for compensation of Rs 831,920/-, calculated as 50% of Rs 8000 (maximum considered) multiplied by 207.98. If his salary was Rs 7800/-, he would have received Rs 811,122/-.
