ESIC Limit Increase to 25k
As the elections are nearing, the government is very much interested in serving the poorer section. After the Food Protection Bill and Compensation for Land Bill, the government (Labour Ministry) had a meeting with ESIC officials and discussed increasing the ESI coverage for those drawing a salary of less than Rs. 25,000/- instead of Rs. 15,000/-. This decision has been taken due to the inflation occurring in recent days.
