Dear Smita,
From your query I understood that you want to give presentation on the HR processes in a manufacturing Indyustry. You can categorise them into four categories :
A. HR and Development
D .Industrial Relations
The main processes are as follow :
1.Manpower Planning.
2.Recruitment & Selection.
3.Training and Development
4 Performance Management and rewards .

5.Regular interaction with employees to create and maintain positive environment
6. Salary and wage administration.

7.Liaison with Labour Deptt., Factories Deptt.,PF Deptt., ESIC Deptt.and other related departments
8..Employee Welfare administrations
9.Employee Engagement Activities
10.Time Office administration.
11.Maintaining Overall House-Keeping of the plant.
12. Managing contractual manpower
13.Company Guest House/Pantry/Canteen Administration..
14. Security Administration
15.Complying with statutory provisions under different Labour Laws.

Ramesh has given you some sound tips. Hence, let me ask you a few questions. These questions may help other bloggers to give complete information before raising a question, to help experts to give precise advice.
Who has asked you to give a presentation?
How large is the company that needs these services?

For a better advise, can you clarify whether all that you have to do is to give a simple academic presentation only or you have to study the unit and suggest solutions? If it is a simple academic presentation then the suggestion given by Mr Ramesh in post #2 above will suffice. If it is not, then you have to give further details.

Hello Sir ,
I appreciate ur suggestion .
I am an MBA of 2010-12 batch & I have got placed in a Software company with the designation in Executive - Marketing ,
But as I hv done my MBA in both HR & Marketing So my roles sometimes moved from my field to HR Field !
I have read in MBA in HR ,the subs like HRP ,HRD,Industrial Relations ( IR),& Cross Cultural & Global HRM ( CCGH )
As the company which has no international operation I think CCGH will not be applied & the company will not want to make software for the grievances & complaints from its Trade Union . So IR will ot be applied What I think .
So pls give me with necessary suggestions & help in this matter
Thanks ,

Dear Smita,
I am no HR expert. However, when bloggers do not give enough background information, I seek that by raising questions. Giving detailed background information, at the outset, helps save bloggers time in giving precise answers.

You have to make it to fit into the time given. Though the topics already suggested cover almost all facets of HR you can modify it taking into account - 1. the time constraint; and 2. the nature of the organisation [software company].
A software company may be more interested in topics such as manpower forcasting, manpower planning, retentiion/turn-over of employees, compensation management [including incentives], legal compliances, training etc. You may lay emphasis on these topics. Wish you all the best!

Dear Sir,

I have gone through all your points . The company to which We are going to provide a complete HR Soln has no international operations.

One other thing I.e. You have mentioned that Industrial Relation will be covered . In IR the role of Trade Union is an important aspect . So will their Management want to make a software w.r.t their Trade Union ?

Will IR come under the solution We want to provide ?

Again please provide me with me necessary sub topics under each main topic U have described in ur Reply .

LikeHRP,Recruitment & Selection,Trg & Development,Performance Appraisal & Rewards,Salary wage admn,Employee Welfare Admn,Employee Engagement Activities,Over all House Keeping of the plant,Contractual Manpower Mgt,Security Admn,Statutory Provision under different Labour Laws etc ......

And What topics will come under Company Guest house /Pantry/Canteen Admn ..

Pls provide me with necessary Sub Topics for all above I mentioned .I think U have worked in a plant . I have only studied theoritcal aspects of HRP ,HRD and IR .

Other topics U have described like Employee engagement activities,Security admn,Over all house Keeping,Pantry/Canteen admn etc Ithose were not in my Syllabi .

Our main Purpose to provide that company a complete HR Software soln . So for that Primarily We have to make an Outline first that which topics can come w.r.t a Manufacturing Unit that have only national operations.

Our Company converts Concepts into software solutions .

For that I first need a good sound outline consisting not only th main points as well the sub topics under those ...

Pls review this query once more n What ans U have given me previously If any other main Process will be covered with in that or Only Sub Topics will be covered under each Main Process.

I found your suggestion trust worthy . Pls once more review my query n pls reply it.

Thanks for helping me Out !

Hence we are a Software Company. Our core job lies in providing Industry centric solution to Enterprises.
We cover Process Manufacturing Company,Discreete /Engineering Units,Real Estate ,TLT Manufacturers ,Industrial Suppliers,Power Plants ,Sponge Iron Industries etc.
I am a fresher in my Company n not having much knowledge . And I m working in field of Marketing but the thing is as I hv done dual Specialization in HR & Marketing so I have to some times move from my core field to HR Field .
And In HR while in MBA I hv studied HRP ,HRD,IR & CCGH ( Cross Cultural & Global HRM )
Hope I will get a concrete ans to my Query on '' HR TOPICS FOR A MANUFACTURING FIRM''
Thanks ,

Dear Sir ,

If Its going in a right direction then pls suggest me sub topics under each point .

Dear Smita,

I mentioned Industrial Relations as important part of HR roll. Its scope has broder meaning in the current senerio. It not only deals with the Trade Unions but as HR professions we have to spend our lot of time to create and maintain good industrial relations. It means that we have to have regular interaction with the employees to feel their pulse so that we may devise proactive policies for improvement. We are change agents between Management and the employees. On our fact based suggestions he management acts.

Further you may categorise the topics as under :

Manpower planing and forcasting

You see your current manpower/business plan/future requirements/demand and supply issues.

-Recruitment and Selection

Data bank/Manpower consultants/school and colleges for placements/receiving and reviewing job applications/planning for interviews/calling and short listing candidates/preparing Job offer/appointment letters/Joining formalities

Training and Development

]nduction Traning for the new incumbent.

Regular Training (identification of training needs/preparing training calendars/conducting training programmes/evaluating the feedback for further improvements.

Performance Management

Having regular interaction with the HODs for periodic review of the performance of the employees/Rewards and letters

Employee Engagement Activities ; to getting optimum output and for the satisfaction of the manpower..

Rewards and Recognition

Company canteen/pantry/security/stationary/vehicles/computers and printers/fax machines/telephones and mobiles/CCTV camars/furniture and fixtures/salary and wages/maintaining personal records /Liaison with Labour Deptt., Factories Deptt.,PF Deptt., ESIC Deptt.and other related departments/ Time Office administration./ Maintaining Overall House-Keeping of the plant/ Managing contractual manpower/ Complying with statutory provisions under different Labour Laws/overtime/exgratia etc……..

Welfare Measures

In addition to the statutory provisions, the professional companies stress on the welfare of the employees i.e.

- Loans and advances

- Conveyance facilities

- Accommodation arrangements

- Taking care of the families

- Schooling of the children of the employees

- Cultural activities

- Tours and travels

- Free medical check up camps

- Outside trainings of the employees

Industrial Relations : As have already mentioned.

May be I have missed some important points, but the above is the broad categorization of the processes.

With Best Regards

Dear Smita,
I am no HR expert. If I wereasked to give a presentation, depending upon the time gine, I would search the web and find advertisement for different posts in that field. For example I found the job roles for a HR Director at <link outdated-removed> ( Search On Cite | Search On Google )
If you search for roles of persons at different levels you will get details of sub-topics under broad categories.
