Hi,
I work for an IT Software firm and we have support sales and implementation. We have 9PL'S 6 CL'S AND 6 SL'S. Now, we have this policy that leave cannot be en cashed and only PL's can be forwarded. Employees who are in Implementation department as they are always on the client side and cannot avail leaves till the point of time the project is on, their leaves get accumulated at the end of the year. Now, there is a dissatisfaction among the employees that they cannot encash their leaves neither they can avail them because of the work load.
Please guide as to what can be done in this case.

Hi Shweta

While endorsing Amit's suggestions, You can try the following methods of leave managment

1) Since it is not prudent to allow encashment of all three kinds of leave i.e PL,CL and SL by employees from the point view of financial implications, you can allow encashment of PL only with a total ceiling limit of 100days for accumulation. You can allow employees encash only a maximum of one month leave and a minimum of one week leave during their tenure. However this stipulation shall not be made applicable to encashment when employee leaves the employment. for example, if an employeeaccumulates leave to the extent of 100 days at the time of leaving, he shall be allowed to encash it. You can work out a prudent formula for encashment having regard to the quantum of basic pay and other allowances payable as emoluments.

2) An employee shall be allowed to accumulate SL up to a maximum of 30 days and it is not encashable.

3) An employee shall be allowed to avail CL in a calender year, failing which it shall lapse.

Hi Shwetha,
Please remember... there is no plural for leave, when you refer to Leave of Absence. You will find Leaves only in Trees ! It can, at best, only be Days of Leave.....
I find wrong usage of English at every second posting......
At this rate, Shakespeare and Dr. Samuel Jhonson must be turning in their grave every hour !
