Hello Vinita, it is an important subject to be studied and understood. I agree that IR is no longer the force to reckon with as it used to be in its heyday. However, the majority of current HR policies and practices have been fine-tuned from this period.
Understanding Industrial Relations
IR would also help you to understand the basic laws which are in force today and, most importantly, assist one in understanding the people who come to the workplace in broader perspectives, whether they are workers, IT specialists, or BPO employees. Gender Roles in Industrial Relations
IR roles are predominantly reserved for males as they have to deal with the workers in the factory; however, there are emerging opportunities, especially in the pharma sector, which has been employing lady workers.
