Hi, what are the advantages and disadvantages of a confirmation letter to an employee? If your employee has been given an appointment letter mentioning a probation period, then a confirmation letter definitely helps to prove that the employee has become permanent and is eligible for bonuses, leave, etc., as per company policies.

How about the claims while working and on leaving the job? I have not understood the query.

Confirmation of an employee gives a sense of security to the employee by making him feel a part of the organization. It also provides him with the feeling that the HOD and the company value him/her in the organization, which encourages him/her and can motivate the person to work better qualitatively and take charge of responsibilities that can be handled by the individual.

Hi,

It depends on your company policy. If your company policy states that employees are eligible for bonuses, leave, etc., once confirmed/permanent, then the employee is definitely entitled to these benefits. The bonus and leave will be given on a pro-rata basis, again depending on company policies.

Hi,

A confirmation letter is absolutely and, most importantly, plays a crucial role in the notice period after resignation.

Some companies have a process of keeping new joiners on probation for three to six months. Based on the level of their performance, they are confirmed by receiving a confirmation letter.

The confirmation process is done in consultation with their reporting boss - if the employee's performance was as per the expected standards.

The main difference between people on probation and those who are confirmed is that individuals on probation, after resignation, have to serve a shorter notice period than those who have been confirmed. The logic behind this is that the person not confirmed is deemed unsuitable for the company and can be asked to leave in the minimum timeframe. On the other hand, a confirmed individual must have been a good worker. Therefore, since it takes time to replenish a valuable resource, they need to serve a longer notice period.

I believe this is a very important process and must be followed wherever quality performance is a top priority.

Hope this helps you!

Regards
