Hi !
Can anyone please share the requisite qualification for being appointment as 'Welfare Officer' as per Factories Act?
Is sanction to be obtained from any authority? Or just intimation?
Any prescribed form / format to be filled?

As per factories act any company/industry having more than 500 employees it is mandatory to have a welfare officer.
if industry having more than 250 women employee then welfare officer must be a female.
About qualification
Masters of social work graduates are preferred or MA specialized in sociology are also appointed as welfare officer.

When Compliance is to be made under The Factories act,1948 then we may approach the area Factory Inspector for having know how on recruitment of Welfare Officer. It is hoped that every state must have State Recruitment Rules for appointment of Welfare Officers.

can you clarify my doubt.
i ve done my mba in (mktg & hr) and working as a hr-executive for a reputed industry. now i got selected as welfare office for a fame company. as per the requirement i m suppose to submit the certificate stating that im eligible for the welfare officer post.
now, can you please tell me weather im eligle or not.
