Hi Parul,
Giving Health Insurance to all the employees is an nice option, but i feel this policy should be applicable to all the employees.
You can introduce various slabs of premium on the basis of sum assured. It may be applicable to all the employees according to their Grade/Salary.
Thanks & Regards,

Good Intiative

1) Coverage Amount - 50,000 to 3 Lakhs or More depending on the Management Decision

2) The amount can be same or different based on the Cadre ( For an Executive it can be done 50,000 & from that the amount can gone upwards)

3) Coverage can be Single(That is Only Employee) & or can be floating (shared among their Family members)

4) U can include Employee's Wife & Children and also Parents

5) Many companies would with employee's Wife & Children as if we include Parents (Due to Age), the premium will go high

6) Negotiation with Insurance companies is very much important

7) Hard Negotiation required to get maximum benefits

8) Third Party will administor all your claims

9) If Handled well Health Insurance will be a Success or Else it will go otheriwse.

10) You need to be very tough when it comes to Insurance or else you will not be able to extract the maximu benefits

11) You can keep in touch with me in getting the right person for insurance, negotiating & also finalising the Insurance.

Dear Parul,

It’s better to provide health insurance to all employees. You can have different sum insured based on Grade or Designation but not on salary since we all want to maintain salary confidentiality. Again fixing slab and offering benefits will vary from organization to organization.

We have Health Insurance policy for all our employees which cover employee plus five dependents (Parents, Spouse and Children) with below benefits;
  1. Floater policy for (1+5) – Covers Employee+ Spouse + Children +Parents
  2. Pre and Post hospitalization cover- Relevant medical expenses incurred during period up-to 30 days prior to hospitalization on disease/illness/injury sustained will be considered as part of claim. Relevant medical expenses incurred during period up-to 60 days after the hospitalization on disease/illness/injury sustained will be considered as part of claim. Pre & Post hospitalization is not payable for Maternity.
  3. Waiver on 1st year exclusion
  4. Waiver on 1st 30 days excl - Any disease contracted by the insured person during the first 30 days from the commencement date of the policy is covered
  5. Maternity benefits upto Rs. 50K - Treatment taken in hospital/nursing home arising from or traceable to pregnancy, childbirth, including caesarian section. The maximum benefit allowable under this clause is up-to Rs 50,000/- or the sum insured opted by the member of the group whichever is lower. These benefits are admissible only if the expenses are incurred in hospital/nursing home as in-patients in India. Claim in respect of delivery for only first two children only. Expenses incurred in connection with voluntary medical termination of pregnancy during the first 12 weeks from the date of conception are not covered.
  6. Baby cover from day 1
  7. Room Rent - 1% of sum insured for regular & 1.5% for ICU
Please note that your premium amount is likely to go up next year based on previous years claim ratio.

I hope this helps you.

Have a good day, Lakshmi.

Hi,
Yes, i am from insurance industry. If you have received quotes, its fine.
From my experience, i find some corporates offering Medical Insurance to all existing employees (from date of inception of cover) as well as new employees right from the Date of Joining & coverage on same basis, across the company.
However, some other corporates offer cover for employees once they are only confirmed employees, i.e., cover not provided for employees on probation period.
Yet some other companies, provide coverage for all employees from DOJ but Sum Insured varies according to the various levels in the orgn (In this case Sum Insured may be revised during the renewal of the policy).
I think you can work out the coverage based on the budgetary provision, your company intends to set aside for Medical Insurance.
