Thanks Pooja!
Is there anyway I might be able to make good from my earlier qualification from Symbiosis - MBA in Marketing? Since a lot of subjects are common for MBA, is there any way I could go in for an extra specialization from a "Reputed" institute - may be part-time / correspondence rather than re-stretching the whole line?

Hello Parichay,
You have to check that from the diff institutes if they wil be giving you benefits or if they are providing any specialistion in HR after MBA in Marketing.
Archana had listed a no of institutes, sugget pls get in touch with them.
Personally I feel it will be major plus to undergo a full course as there are lots of new things you will learn and can use that knowledge to adavnce your carrier in HR.

I found the following link searching for institutes offering correspondence courses in HR - I deem its a useful link for anyone interested in correspondence courses:
http://www.webindia123.com/career/co...dence/list.htm
From this link, I could draw two info:
  • PGDHRM from IGNOU
    MHRM from Annamalai
While I search for more, I would really appreciate your opinion of the above two courses & institutes.

Thanks Archana, Saurabh, Pooja and other Seniors,
Your replies have silenced a score of questions in my mind and Finally edged me towards pursuing a professional certification in HR!! I hope to strike good.
With my current job requirements, I will not be able to keep up with part-time courses as they are all evening classes. I hope in the end what will matter will be my knowledge and my certification instead of the correspondence/part-time status - am I right?
Many thanks & regards,
Parichay Dewan.

HI Parichay,
Most of the firms give first preference to candidates having a full time degree/certification from a B school with work experience, then come all the other candidates so frm my understanding your experience will be counted more than your certification as now the optin of ful time course is not present so it hardly makes a difference.
About the courses you asked I still feel you should resurvey the institutes and either IMT or MDI or Symbiosis should be you first preference for correspondence.

Sourabh

Hi Saurabh, I agree with the first para, that preference should be given to full time institutes. I disagree with the second one though, AIMA and IGNOU is better than IMT for sure. Cheers Archna

Hi Archana, Saurabh,
Wonder if there are weekend classes at AIMA / IGNOU - I suppose that needs to be checked.
Could you throw some light on the "Project Work" shown as part of 2nd module at AIMA?
Regards,
Parichay Dewan.
