Hi everyone,
I work in the HR department of a hospital, and we have decided to restructure its organizational structure to enable better services. The current hospital is a captive of a company and provides service to its employees only. We are looking at making it a profit center instead of a cost center for the company. If anyone has any information on the organizational structures of various hospitals (this is not available online, sadly), I would be grateful for that. Any other suggestions are also welcome.
Regards,
Shuchita

Why don't you try to find contacts in HR departments of other hospitals and see how they approach and handle things? Giving advice without considering the entire situation can be risky. I suggest conducting your research to gain insights for yourself.

Hi,
Thanks for the interest shown by you, but I'm sure you appreciate that I cannot forward the details of the project since they are confidential. However, if you could tell me of some place on the net where I could get a download on how hospitals function, their business models, etc., especially of medical colleges, it would be a great help.

Greetings for the day ahead!!!
Please find attached two organizational structures. One is exclusively for eye & ear, while the other is more comprehensive. Additionally, there is the organizational structure of AIIMS, the largest medical college hospital in India.
We understand that these may not provide extensive help, but you can use them as starting points, especially if you are not considering engaging any consultants.

Hi,
I'm presently working in a 40-bedded General & Maternity Nursing Home. Everything here is haphazard. The owner of the hospital has been taken for a jolly ride by the consultants. They pay him Rs 2000 per month to use his consulting rooms for over 4 hours daily (A/C, Fan, etc. etc.) and they transfer patients out of the Hospital where they get huge cuts.
Even after the hospital has an X-ray unit, these doctors send their patients out to another X-Ray clinic where they get a cut for referral.
Now they are behind the owner of the hospital to start an ICU unit. They will only make him spend and send patients outside.
The owner is very gullible. A man of charity and an honest dude! He has an excellent reputation for being a good human and doctor with excellence at par. He knows what they are doing but doesn't have substantial proof to chuck them out. That is where I come into the picture. :-?
He wants me to restructure the whole unsettled hospital. He is ready to let me buy whatever software and hardware that I need and also increase manpower if required.
I want to know:
1. The rules & regulations for a consultant doctor
2. OPD and IPD regulations
3. Patient Referral schemes
4. Policies for a Private Hospital
Requesting you to guide me.
Thanking you.
