I am Ashok. I was working in a manufacturing company. I worked there for 22 years. At the time of leaving the company i got only Rs 95000 as Gratuity amount. At that time my salary was 21000 and my basic salary was 12000. It is almost 1 year back when i got this amount but at that time i was not aware that how much gratuity i should have got. now one of my friend has told me that i have not got full amount of gratuity.
1) So i want to ask you seniors that what is the right amount which i should have got?
2) if this amount which i got as gratuity is not full amount then kindly suggest what should i do to get the full amount and what would be the process or right step?
3) at the time of my full and final settlement i got only my PF and Gratuity amount. Is there are any other benefits that i should have got?

Hello Mr. Ashok, I you had served 22 yrs of service with last Basic amount 12000Rs than your Gratuity amount is = (12000) * (15/26) * (22) = 1,52,308 Rs Thanking you, Regards, Ashish

As said in earlier post, with your last drawn basic as 12,000 and you have been worked for 22 years, your gratuity amount should have been ideally -
15/26 * 12000 * 22 = 152307.69 rounded off to 152308 or 152310 (depends on company's policy)
With gratuity given only as 95,000 I believe they paid you only for 13-14 years....
I think you should check the salary slip if any deductions were made.
1 year is a long time to seek clarification. However, you can drop a mail to HR, your ex-boss and any other concerned person in loop.
Seek clarification on the calc of your gratuity.

Was this retirement? (I presume so having a huge experience)
PF and Gratuity are statutory things that you should have got.
Apart from that I think there are no statutory payments to be made.
However, it would also depend on company's policy if they have introduced any additional payments for employees with such long tenure.
Senior's advice is sought though.

if your service has been continuous then you will liable to getting full amount Gratuity 152308/-

Mr. Ashok,
Gratuity is payable only on your continuous service for years subject to completion of actual working days 240, If you have not completed 240 days in any of years, you are not entitled for gratuity for that years. So please check that how many years you have not completed 240 days in a year since your joining.
