Dear All,

I have around 1.6 yrs of experience in recruitement. Two months ago I joined one of the Companies(Company Y) in Hyderabad.

Earlier I was associated with Bangalore based Firm(Company X). I was a good performer there and I had to quit there becoz of my manager. I resigned there after I got an offer in Company Y. As I am a Performer, my director tried to retain me but I told him everything what are the problems that I faced with my manager.

He gave me good hike and gave higher responsibilites but I couldn't stay there as my mind was totally clumsy at that time. I was there with them for 1.3 yrs. and started my career with that Company and have good relations with them till date. I don't have any bad remarks on me.

Now in Company Y, I am not able to adjust with the work environment. The work here is similar and a lower designation and lower responsibilities.
I am not able to love the work as I did in Company X.

While I am leaving Company X, my Director gave me an open Option that, "we would definitely want you to come back".
I was happy with that sentence. And my current Company Y is planning to layoff 10 to 15% of the employees as they are getting into losses as this is US based and Company X is Indian based.

Now, I would like to go back to Company X as the situation is very critical and as I am in Probationary Period, I could be the one to get effected.

Please suggest me if it is wise to quit Company Y to go back and Join Company Y.

Please suggest me ASAP. I have to take a quick decision.

Regards,
Gowtam

Please talk to the Director concerned. Ask him if he is still open to the idea of taking you back and the possible work responsibility...and based on both of your mutual understanding you can join back your previous organization..All the very best :icon1:

Hi,
I spoke to my Director and he is standing on his words and only thing which he is pointing out is regarding Compensation. He says that I am at an higher end. He told me that he would increase my salary to the one which I had an offer for. And now he says he cannot match to that CTC.
I have financial problems and I cannot work for lesser CTC.
Now, I am in a Very BIG confusion State. Please comment on this.

Hi Gowtam:
Let me know what is your current CTC and what is your previous employer offering you..
Also one more thing, try finding job somewhere else, if you wish (for better CTC), or else something is better than nothing....if ur current employer terminates you, you wont have any job in-hand in that state your financial situation would be more worse...
So, try searching new job, if not possible negotiate with your earlier boss and join them...
All d best

You Must Find Rescue In Your Previous Company First Then Decide Pros And Cons. Today Your Future Is In Doldrum You Must Move Immediately And Before They Loose Interest In You.
If You Take More Time That May Not Work For You Because Noone Wait For Employees To Return And Meantime They May Fill The Vacancy..
Your Current Salary Is Meaning Less Because You Are Nto Sure How Long You Can Retain This Job..... Many Companies Are Implementing Salary Cut.
Do The Best...........

Hi Gawtam,

I can understand your hesitation. No one would like to take job on lesser salary. In this senario I can suggest you either of the following:

1. In your present company try to know where you stand by asking either your reporting manager or the HR, if the response is positive then there is possibility of your staying there irrespective of their laying off (Though I know you do not wish to, but they are the one pay you the salary that you expect)...In between you can search for suitable job... you need to work for that and will need time.

3. If you really wish to join back the previous company ask the director for the final offer... or try to negotiate. Hope things will be in favour of you. If he says he can not increase your CTC or match up to your current one in any way ask for increase in Variable pay (Performance Incentives) if there is a option of it. I have no doubt that you are a hard working person and you will surely perform well.

Don't haste and think rationally are my last words to you..

Dear Gowtam,
i think you should join your X company at the best terms you can negotiate with them and if you're still unhappy, you can keep looking for a new job.
another thing, besides salary, you may also want to check whether you will join as a confirmed employee (since you have worked with them before - you've not mentioned how long back you left them) - see if you can negotiate to join as a confirmed employee because in these days of uncertainty, you never know how the situation might turn even at X.
at the same time, keep looking out but remember, in recessionary times, it's better to hold on to jobs than look at new ones where the employees on probation are the first to go!
all the best!

Dear All,
Thanks for your Wonderful inputs. I am really happy to see all your responses at a stratch. Today afternoon I received a call from my Previoud Director and he is ready to give me higher responsibilities and and Just Rs. 800 less salary compared to my current and I would like to go ahead with that as I am uncertain about my Job here in my current Company. If my current company terminates me, I will be on the road. I feel that this is the right time to move before they could ask me to leave.
As I already told you, Company X is an INDIAN based and Company Y is US based and in INDIA its under Rs. 20 Crores loss. I don't know the fate here.
I thought if I spend more time in thinking and try to sail on two boats ...I will get nothing. So, I would like to go ahead with my Company X and take the responsibilities there with FULL OF JOSH.
I hope my decision is WISE?
Thanks for your inputs.
I am so HAPPY.
Thanks & regards,
Gowtam
