We all carry our mobile phones with names and numbers stored in its memory, but nobody, other than ourselves, knows which of these numbers belong to our closest family or friends.
If we were to be involved in an accident or were taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phone but wouldn't know who to call. Yes, there are hundreds of numbers stored, but which one is the contact person in case of an emergency? Hence, this "ICE" (In Case of Emergency) Campaign.
The concept of "ICE" is catching on quickly. It is a method of contact during emergency situations. As cell phones are carried by the majority of the population, all you need to do is store the number of a contact person or persons who should be contacted during an emergency under the name "ICE" (In Case Of Emergency).
The idea was thought up by a paramedic who found that when he went to the scenes of accidents, there were always mobile phones with patients, but they didn't know which number to call. He, therefore, thought that it would be a good idea if there was a nationally recognized name for this purpose. In an emergency situation, Emergency Service personnel, and hospital staff would be able to quickly contact the right person by simply dialing the number you have stored as "ICE."
For more than one contact name simply enter ICE1, ICE2, and ICE3, etc. A great idea that will make a difference!
Let's spread the concept of ICE by storing an ICE number in our mobile phones today!

Dear Parveen,
This is indeed a very good idea for people to have emergency contact numbers saved in their mobile phones in case of accidents or mishaps. Everyone should follow this method to ensure that emergency contact numbers can be easily accessed when needed.
Thank you.

Hi Praveen,
It's a very good idea. However, if we think about the layman or any individual, I don't think that he or she will be able to remember the ICE number especially in that moment. So, I would suggest that instead of saving important numbers as ICE1, ICE2, ICE3... we should also save these numbers at the first and last positions in the phone book.
Usually, when a person opens the contact information on a mobile phone, out of habit, he or she tends to look at the first or last name. Therefore, in my opinion, this aspect should also be taken into consideration.
Cheers,

Dear All,
Thank you for your comments. We need to circulate a message to all our employees. Please pass the message around to everyone you know so that the world will be aware. It is very important that the helper, not the victim, should be aware of this number being present.
Thank you all for spreading the word around.
Regards,
Praveen

Good idea.
But nowadays, especially youngsters store a lot of numbers in their mobile phones. Searching ICE is a little cumbersome. Instead, I would suggest adding "A" before ICE so that it will be placed first in the "Contact" registry. Therefore, once the contact registry is opened, "A-ICE" will come first, making it easier to inform the person concerned.
