Under the Gujarat Industrial Establishments (National and Festival Holidays) Act, 1969, private factories in Gujarat are required to allow their employees a paid holiday on three national holidays (26th January - Republic Day, 15th August - Independence Day, and 2nd October - Gandhi Jayanti) and five other festival holidays. These festival holidays can be decided by the employer after a consultation with the employees.

Steps to Selecting Festival Holidays
1. The employer should prepare a list of proposed festival holidays.
2. This list should be displayed on a notice board in the establishment at least two months before the beginning of the year.
3. The employees can then give their suggestions or objections to the list within fifteen days of the notice.
4. After considering the suggestions and objections, the employer should finalize the list of festival holidays.

The employer also has the right to change any festival holiday with another holiday, after giving a notice of at least thirty days.

Dear Yogesh Kumar Pandya,
You need to observe the state rules.
As per the Gujarat Industrial Establishments (National and Festival Holidays) Act, 1969, all the private factories in Gujarat need to provide their employees on three National Holidays
i.e, (a)26th January - Republic Day, (b)15th August - Independence Day, (c) 2nd October - Gandhi Jayanti.
And five other festival holidays.
These festival holidays can be decided by the employer after a consultation with the employees.
The company needs to have a proper policy and guidelines on Holiday and leaves.
