Greetings, I have been working as an HR teacher in this team since 2012. Unfortunately, my original account was deleted, necessitating the creation of a new one. My current assignment is to educate beginners on the basics of HR. To aid my teaching, I am in need of PowerPoint presentations. Regrettably, all the PowerPoint files I had downloaded from this site were lost due to a virus infection, and my download history disappeared as well. If possible, could you share any PowerPoint presentations that are easy to understand and effective for beginners? I greatly appreciate your help. Thank you very much. (KKM)

As an HR teacher looking for PowerPoint resources to teach beginners about HR topics, one effective approach is to create your own customized presentations tailored to the specific needs of your audience. Here are some practical steps to guide you in this process:

Step 1: Define the Learning Objectives
- Clearly outline the key concepts and topics you want to cover in your HR basics course.
- Identify the level of understanding your beginners have and align the content accordingly.

Step 2: Structure Your Presentation
- Organize the content logically with a clear introduction, main body, and conclusion.
- Use simple language, visuals, and examples to enhance understanding.

Step 3: Include Core HR Topics
- Cover essential HR areas such as recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
- Explain basic HR concepts like compliance, employee benefits, and workplace diversity.

Step 4: Engage Your Audience
- Incorporate interactive elements like quizzes, case studies, or group activities to keep beginners engaged.
- Encourage questions and discussions to promote active learning.

Step 5: Use Visual Aids Effectively
- Utilize charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate complex ideas and make the content more digestible.
- Ensure the text on slides is concise and supports your verbal explanations.

Step 6: Review and Refine
- Proofread your presentations for errors and ensure the information is accurate and up-to-date.
- Seek feedback from colleagues or students to improve the clarity and effectiveness of your slides.

By following these steps and customizing your PowerPoint presentations to suit the needs of your beginner HR learners, you can create engaging and informative resources for your teaching sessions.

If you have been teaching HR for 15 years, you should have more than enough expertise to develop your own training materials to teach basic HR skills. I would be very concerned if you had no idea whatsover about the topics you are supposed to be teaching.

Relying on other people's work is just laziness, and says nothing about your ability as a trainer. In any case, you need to tailor your training to meet the specific needs of the trainees you are working with. Just standing in front of your trainees and reading the words off someone else's powerpoint with no context and no involvement is not training. People don't learn from powerpoint. They need to use all their senses, with interaction, questioning, writing, discussion, exercises, case studies, applications relevant to their own specific workplace. Never once in all my years as a trainer, did I ever let anyone else have any of my training materials. In all cases those materials were developed specifically for the organisations who employed me to train their staff, and were not applicable to other organisations. In addition to that, I never used powerpoint in my training. When people came to one of my training courses, they came to work, and to learn new skills, not read powerpoint slides. Consequently, I had a much higher success rate than other trainers.

If you are as good a trainer as you might think you are, then use your skills to do something different, and make a difference to your trainees learning and development. Death by powerpoint is NOT the answer.
