In the case of contract workmen, is it mandatory for the contractor to issue an appointment letter to the contract employee? Is the contract employee required to submit a letter of resignation in the event of quitting the job? Are there any legal requirements?

Every employer is required to issue a letter of appointment to an employee. The fact that the employee will work somewhere else does not negate the value of the appointment letter. Secondly, the issue of the appointment order is a statutory obligation.
As part of proper separation, every employee is expected to submit a letter of resignation. The resignation letter helps the employer to arrange a proper replacement and aids in maintaining operational continuity. Again, as stated earlier, just because the employee does not carry out the work of the employer, it does not negate the value of the separation process.
The issue of appointment letters, resignation letters, and obtaining proper clearance is part of the administrative procedure. Procedurally, each organization must be robust. It is in their interest.
