Hi guys, I have joined as a developer in an MNC with a contract. According to the MNC, I joined on April 1 (the reporting date was the 7th for the contractor, but before the 7th, I received calls regarding induction). However, the client project onboarding started around the 15th. Now, they are saying that the salary will be paid from the 15th and not from the joining date.

(Note: They made a mistake, so my onboarding started late.)

What should I do? Please help.

What can you do?

You can call and speak to HR to try to explain why you believe you were working for the company and should be paid. If they don't agree, do you want to antagonize the company and risk your new job for 7 days' salary?
