Dear Team,
I have a relative who has reached the retirement age and is currently not working. They had two EPF accounts from private organizations in Chennai. We have the number for one account, but for the second account, we don't have the number. How can we proceed with applying for EPF-based pension for this individual?

If your relative had worked for more than 10 years in any one company already, they might have been given the pension certificate at the time of separation. Secondly, try to get the EPF number of the other company as well through a payslip or you may check with the respective HR. The first old EPF account should be transferred to the new one, and then you can claim as one PF. If a UAN number is already provided by the last employer, you can transfer the old PF to the new account through UAN login itself. The pension process will be separate through the PF office.
