Practically, there is not much of a difference between probation period eligibility versus after completion of the probation period. The main distinction lies in the fact that during the probation period, employees' performance is closely monitored and evaluated periodically, as it is considered somewhat akin to on-the-job training or an observation period. Additionally, both the employer and the employee have the option of separation with short notice, typically around 'one month'. In many cases, only employees who have successfully completed the probation period are 'confirmed' and may receive a salary increase or increment.

On the other hand, for those whose performance during the probation period is deemed 'unsatisfactory', their probation period might be extended for further review and monitoring. If their performance does not improve, such individuals may be terminated with appropriate notice. Furthermore, even though these employees perform their regular duties, their entitlement to leave, permissions to leave the premises, and other benefits are significantly restricted.
