How did you come to know about the vacancy in your company? Was it through the company's general notice board, an ad in the newspaper, or an ad on a job portal? Whatever the means of communication to you, you can reference it and apply for the post.
In your application, there is no need to attach your CV. When you acquired your current position, you must have already submitted your CV, and HR should have a copy on file.
Please route your application through your HOD. If the HOD hands over the application to HR, that is ideal. Otherwise, include the HOD's remarks on your application and submit it directly to HR.
Beyond the process of submitting the application, the crucial question is about your suitability for the position. The selection authority may inquire about this, and you are expected to provide a credible answer.
