My previous employer has not updated my date of exit. When I tried to contact them, I was informed that the company has changed ownership. Another company has taken over. However, when I approached the HR of the new company, he asked for proof of my employment in the previous company. I have the company's Employee ID but not the supporting documents, and he is unwilling to understand the situation. What should I do?

It has been three years since the company changed ownership, and I only found out a week ago when I filed an online claim for EPF. Please help me.

Dear Sagar,

Even though the company was taken over by another employer, you can still access the PF code of the old establishment using the establishment's username and password. If your payslip or UAN passbook show it as proof, that would be sufficient.

Thank you.
