To correct your EPF UAN name, gender, or date of birth online, follow these steps:
1. Visit the EPFO's Unified Member Portal and log in using your UAN number and password. Under the "Manage" tab, select "Modify Basic Details."
2. Enter your Aadhaar number and ensure the details match your Aadhaar records for name, gender, and date of birth.
3. Click on the "Update Details" tab to review the information entered. You can also check the status of the update and delete the request before employer approval.
4. If your UAN is Aadhaar verified, changing details online may not be allowed. The system will display a message indicating this restriction.
After you submit the correction request, the following process occurs at the backend:
- Your employer will log in to the Employer Interface of the Unified Portal to view change requests under "Member > Details Change Request."
- The employer can review the online requests, provide remarks, and approve the changes.
- Once approved by the employer, the request will be visible to the Dealing Hand at the EPFO office for verification.
- The Dealing Hand will assess the request, recommend approval or rejection with remarks, and pass it on to the Section Supervisor.
- The Section Supervisor will then provide recommendations to the APFC/RPFC for final approval or rejection.
Remember, there is no set deadline for this process, but employer approval is mandatory. Ensure your Aadhaar details are correct before initiating UAN corrections to avoid rejection. Once your Aadhaar information is accurate, proceed with the UAN correction following the outlined steps.
