The Payment of Gratuity Act 1972 is applicable to all kinds of employees serving in all sectors in the nation. A person gets entitled to gratuity upon completion of five years of continuous service. The calculation formula is ((Basic Salary + DA) / 26 * 15 * number of years of service).
