Understanding PF Withdrawal with the Same UAN Number and Employment Duration Impact - CiteHR

Respected all,

I worked with X Company for 9 months before joining the New Company. For the New Company's PF contribution purposes, the same UAN ID generated with the previous company was carried forward.

As per procedure, is there a requirement of a minimum 2 months of employment for PF withdrawal? If my previous company's UAN number is carried forward, will my PF withdrawal amount be affected due to the same UAN?

Kindly guide me in this regard.

Thank you.

If UAN has been carried out from previous employment to your new job, i.e. currently the same UAN as before, then you cannot withdraw the amount as you are still working. As per the law, a person can withdraw his amount after two months if he is not working. However, having the same UAN means you are still working.
