Hi Seniors, my name is Praveen, and I work as a senior accountant in a private limited company. I report to the finance manager. A few days ago, the manager asked me to leave the company, stating that my performance exceeded their expectations. Despite my refusal to resign, the manager has been harassing me daily. I raised a complaint with the management, but they are supporting the finance manager's stance, suggesting that if my senior does not wish to work with me, I should consider leaving the company. The company is pressuring me to resign forcefully, and if I do not comply, they have implied that the harassment will continue. I seek guidance on what steps to take. Can I approach the labor commissioner regarding the harassment and the demand for a forced resignation? Your valuable opinion would be greatly appreciated.

Regards, Praveen

Once a company decides not to continue employment, there is little others can do to help. Courts are there but time-consuming and expensive. Either one faces problems boldly or leaves. It is not worth continuing in such an atmosphere.

Dear Praveen,

I would suggest you discontinue with the job as they will torture you mentally and exploit your skills. Otherwise, they will create a scene where you will be held responsible for a company's loss. For the same reason, they could put you behind bars. So, don't take any chances. Look for a new job and be done with it. Before leaving, ask for the relieving letter and letter of conduct.

May God bless you.
