Hello, I am Akashi. I was working with an organization in Pune, and my PF account number is MH/BAN/46320/45336. I had absconded from the company in 2013. Could I know the current balance, and can I directly claim the PF at the PF office? Or do I have to visit the company to claim? Please help.

You can check the PF balance of your account. You have almost all the details with you. Please search for "Online PF Balance Status." You have to provide the above particulars and personal details along with your mobile number. You will receive a message from the EPF Office regarding your balance. Please note that the Pension Fund is not included in the message. However, when you apply for PF withdrawal, you will receive that amount as well.
You have not mentioned your service period. If the service is less than 5 years and the PF amount is more than 30,000, TDS will be deducted as per the rules.
Therefore, it is advisable that if you are currently employed and have a PF facility, transfer the old PF to your current PF account.

Dear,
You can check balance details as suggested by Mr. Pan Singh. Regarding PF withdrawal, yes, you can withdraw PF without going to your previous employer. In this case, you need to get the withdrawal forms (19 & 10C) signed either by a gazetted officer of any government establishment or by any MLA or MP of your area with their stamp.
