@ Savitha M S,
Good Evening to you too....
First of all you need to check the consultancy letter or Agreement you have done with your Consultant. If you have not done any Letter or agreement following are the basic tasks a Statutory HR Consultant is doing. Define it in a letter or Agreement (For Existing or new one) to solve this issue permanently.
1) Initial Registration of statutory Compliance.
2) Filing periodical forms & returns to govt. authority.
3) Resolving issues related to statutory Compliance.
4) Giving latest information of Amendments & updates in labour laws & Govt. Acts.
Do revert in case you required more information on this.
All the best.

Dear Savitha,
His immediate role will be list all labour laws applicable to your company & to conduct compliance audit. Then the 'compliance journey' can be planned.
Will help on the entire exercise if so felt, have hardcore compliance audit & consulting experience of 4 years and that of HR of 25 years.
