Hi,

Can anyone help me know the procedure to start my own recruitment consultancy (Domestic/International)? I have been in this field for the last 8 years, gaining experience in verticals like IT/Non-IT sectors with a pool of candidates. I want to understand how to proceed with billing my clients.

1. I want to operate from my residence.
2. Will I need to open a current account/savings account?
3. Will I need to register my consultancy under some name, and if so, what is the procedure for that?
4. Will I need to get the service tax number? If yes, how do I go about it?
5. I do not have a client database at this point in time (Domestic/USA RPO).
6. I am aware that there are many reputed firms with vendors I have worked with for a long period.
7. Initially, I need help to generate leads in the IT/Non-IT sector. Please advise me.

Thank you.

Hi,

Points 1 to 6 have been answered by others quite well. For point 7, you will need to invest in business development and building client relationships. Define your USP. You can work in any domain, but ensure you have experts in each of those verticals.
