Hi, I have over 13 years of experience and have worked with 6 companies. I worked with TCS from 2005 to 2010 and then moved to another company. Now, I have received an offer from TCS to rejoin. My first company, where I worked from July 2000 to December 2001, is now closed. Since it has been more than 12 years, I only have an experience letter and an appointment letter from that time.

I am a bit concerned about accepting the offer because if they conduct an employment check for all my previous companies, they may not find any information about my first company. Could this lead to my BCG being marked as red? The rest of my 5 companies are all top-level Indian and MNC companies, so verifying my employment there should not be an issue. My primary worry is about my first company.

Does anyone know how many previous companies TCS checks during background verification?

Best Regards,
Vittal

Dear member,

You need not worry. TCS will conduct the verification for all the previous employment. Even though your company is closed, the background verification team will have resources to know about the existence of the company where you previously worked, though they would not be able to find out about your job profile. Even then, it will not affect you because it is not your fault. Hence, be confident and all the best.

Hi all,

My first company has just closed, and I found out about it today. I have received an offer from TCS currently, which would make it my 5th company. I worked in my first company until 2007, but now it is closed. I do not have any account/salary slips, just carrying experience and release letter. However, my current and last companies are big MNCs. Will this lack of documentation be a problem during the verification process at TCS? What should I do?

Hi all,

I have 4.9 years of experience, and I am currently working with a top MNC company. Prior to this, I have worked for TCS, and TCS would be my fifth company.

My first company was a startup with 20-25 employees. When I left, the company divided into two parts. The owner under whom I was working opened a new company with a new name, while the second owner continued to run the company with the same name in a different location in the same city.

I have an experience letter from them, but I am a bit concerned about what to do when the BGC team asks about it. What should I do?

I have received an offer in TCS, accepted it, and submitted the documents for BGC. The CTC I mentioned is 13L in the iBegin portal, and I uploaded the same recent hike letter. However, my current company retracted my offer of 13L, and my salary/payslip are based on the old offer. I have submitted the documents with the new offer letter, which is 13L. I am a little concerned that it might have a negative impact on my BGC.

Any suggestions, please?
