Hi, my name is Ana, and I work for a cement company considered to be one of the most important companies in my country, Colombia. My office is located in Barranquilla, a northern city near the Caribbean. I work for the human resources department, and my job is considered to be a multitask one. For the welfare of the employees and to motivate them, we can celebrate the holidays in a useful manner and for relaxation as well. Employee welfare also includes certain facilities or services to improve their health and efficiency. HR serves as a mediator between the company and the employees but should also advocate for employee welfare. This approach will help retain employees for longer durations within the company and will lead to a better workforce. Educational and medical facilities will also be made available for their families. Encouraging these kinds of facilities and raising awareness about the company benefits to employees can help them utilize these resources properly.

Hi Lauren, thanks for your help. Basically, what I need is to implement creative activities for the welfare plan and new ideas to encourage people by using their emotions. In Colombia, we celebrate many holidays and are considered a multicultural country, so we have many motives to celebrate. For example, we have pre-carnivals and carnivals from January through March. Employees had the opportunity to participate in parades, carnival activities with the queen, or watch the parades from the terraces. The participation in this activity was completely new, and the collaborators responded well. The company I work for offers a complete benefit plan. This plan includes conventions with insurers, multiple loans, compensation funds, etc., so I need something different, innovative, creative, simple, and especially not expensive. We are a big company with a presence in the US and the Caribbean.
