Hi all,
I was trying to hunt for a list of cultural/motivational/bonding activities to be carried out in an organization. I am trying to build a calendar for events on an annual basis. Can anyone provide me with the same? For example: Best Cubicle/Traditional day/Cricket-Foosball matches/Birthday celebrations, etc. I need more. :)

Dear Rishikesh,
There can be lot cultural/motivational/bonding activities which can be carried out in the organization. Some of them are listed below.
„« You can start with a monthly celebration which as the name implies should be done on the last working day of the month. You can keep aside half an hour to one hour for this celebration. In this you can order a big cake and celebrate the bˇ¦day of all the employees in that month. You can even give them small gifts. You can even welcome all the new joinees of that month with small gifts. You can keep one minute games for entertainment. Needless to add that some snacks can be ordered for the same. People will look forward to this.
„« You can celebrate all the important festivals. I know its not possible to celebrate it in large scale but a small scale event can be organized which would not even disturb anybodyˇ¦s work.
„« Annual family day can be celebrated wherein you can arrange lot of events
„« The best Performer month award
„« The most clean workstation ˇV annual event
„« The best dressed male/female-Annual event
As of now, you can implement them. If required I can give you more suggestions as well.

Hi Rishikesh,
Total Employee Involvement (TEI) activities are the most effective means for motivating the employees. When the employees have a Sense of Belonging, their motivation level will be high.
Here are a few examples of TEI Activities:
a) Employees' Suggestion Scheme: This is for individuals. Employees can suggest improvements in processes, quality, cost, etc. They will be rewarded based on the potential savings from their contributions. We can also have the best suggestor of the month, best suggestor for the year, etc.
b) Quality Control Circles (QCC): Operators of a particular department/area will form a circle facilitated by a supervisor. This is the most popular model practiced by Japanese companies. Work-related issues will be taken up by these circles, and breakthroughs will be achieved. Similar to the Suggestion Scheme, we can have the best QCC of the month and year. The opportunity to participate in International QC conventions is also high in this.
c) Supervisory Improvement Team (SIT): A group of supervisors/executives will form a team and take up some improvement projects.
d) Cross-Functional Teams (CFT): If the issue requires the involvement of executives from various functions, CFTs will be formed. They also function like SITs.
e) Task Force: For breakthrough issues or policy issues, a Task Force is constituted. Normally, the Task Force comprises members of the Senior Management Crew.
Other than the above, you can have Employee and Employees family get-together functions to motivate them. A few examples are:
a) Domestic Safety Training for employees' spouses.
b) Annual Sports meet for employees and their families.
c) Company Day celebrations.
d) Contact programs for employees' families.
e) Recognizing employees and family members for their achievements in the House magazine, etc.
Thanks and Regards,
