Friends, I have a client in Delhi who needs to register his organization under the PF and ESIC Act. His organization is in the service industry with a total staff strength of around 30 employees. For registration under PF & ESI, how much can I charge? And for the monthly records and returns, how much should I charge? Kindly advise. Your valuable advice will be a great help for me.

It appears that you are willing to take up an assignment as a part-time consultant only on ESI & PF matters in a service organization having a workforce of around 30. This organization falls under the purview of the ESI & PF Acts without saying. Once registration is completed, it will be a regular affair on your part to generate monthly challans online and maintain registers & returns as prescribed.
Determining Professional Fees
It is difficult to advise you on how much you should charge as professional fees. Since it is a competitive market, I would advise you to charge reasonably, satisfy your client first, and ensure proper service to the employees concerned. It should be your endeavor to find out the professional fees being charged by other consultants in your locality. Accordingly, you should fix your fees to be charged.
Registration and Reimbursement
For registering under PF & ESI, you may have to incur some hidden expenses. You should discuss with your prospective client for reimbursement of the same before you take up this assignment. Hence, for registration, you should charge your professional fees plus reimbursement of expenses for registration only. Once registration is done, for the maintenance of return registers, etc., you should raise monthly invoices/bills on a regular basis as a professional bill.
