If I take one Casual Leave and a following Restricted holiday, i.e., a total of two leaves before the start of continuous five public holidays, and then add two more casual leaves in continuation, making it a total of 14 continuous absences, is this valid according to Indian Leave rules? Please guide.

Understanding Company Leave Policies

It depends on the company policy. If it's a national holiday, you can avail yourself of it, but on a festival holiday, if you are absent before and after the specified list of festival holidays, it will be considered as leave. Some companies do not consider it as leave. So, check with your company on the leave policy.

There is no such "Indian leave rule" as framing leave policies is at the discretion of the company. Please check this with your company's leave policy. If your company follows the sandwich leave rule, then all the leaves taken by you will be considered as continuous, and all the public holidays and weekly offs coming in between your EL/CL will be considered as leave.
