My name is Hrishikesh. One of my friends was working in a private company, and now he wants to resign from the company as well as withdraw his PF amount. He worked there for 1 year. Now, when he approached the company for his PF amount, he came to know that nothing has been deposited in his PF account by the employer. However, he made his contribution monthly from his basic salary.

Queries Regarding PF Withdrawal

So, the queries now are: How can he get his PF amount? Is there any hope for him to retrieve his PF amount?

Thank you in advance for everybody's help. Please show me a way to cope with this problem.

I am not able to understand why he did not ask for his PF account number in one year. As we all are aware, on the basis of the PF account number, we can create our PF passbook. Through the PF passbook, we can know the status of our PF. You should ask your friend to send a complaint email to his employer and include EPFO in the CC, and also send the hard copy to EPFO.

Thanks to Sir Malik, Sir Sanjeev, and Sir Deepak for your information. The company didn't provide him with the salary slip. They just transfer his salary to his bank account number as provided by him. In fact, none of the employees are given a salary slip. So, he has no evidence with him regarding his contribution.

If he does not have a salary slip, does his appointment letter state that he was allotted PF benefits? Or does he have a salary breakup showing PF contribution/deduction? If yes, he can ask for his PF number and then lodge his complaint with the EPFO office.

Best wishes.
