Understanding Full & Final Settlement Period for Resigning Employees - CiteHR

Hi, my name is Diviya. I want to know if an employee resigns from a company and gives a notice period of 24 days (actually required 30 days as per the appointment letter), in how many days will he get his full and final settlement. In short, I just want to know what the time period is for getting the full and final settlement if resigned by giving complete notice or short notice. Are there any particular rules in general for every company?

You have not mentioned whether your resignation has been accepted yet. If it is accepted, you would be eligible to receive:

1. Gratuity, if qualified
2. Unpaid salary
3. Cash value of eligible leave, if any in your credit.

Gratuity should be paid within 30 days from the date of termination.

I believe each company has its policy to disburse the F&F amount. There are many companies that would hand over the F&F on the last working day (if considerable time to calculate the dues is given), even with a shorter notice period. Some companies would hand over the F&F amount post the last working day. The time frame can be anything from 1 week to 3 months.

First of all, thanks for your valuable information.

@ Umakanthanji - Yes, the resignation was accepted, but F&F has not been disbursed on the last working day.

@ Ankita - As I mentioned before, in the appointment letter, the notice period is for 30 days only. The information you have provided is really valid as every company has its policies. But are there any general rules?
