Hi Seniors, I have a doubt. If an employee joins a new company and wants to transfer his/her old PF account to the current company, should the HR be approached, or can it be done directly with the documents given by HR? What is the standard practice? Please let me know the same.

If you have joined a new company and wish to continue or transfer your previous PF number, you need to submit PF Form 13 to your current employer. This form is for PF transfer, and your previous employer will fill it out. After that, you need to submit the form to your current employer, who will complete the remaining information and then submit your PF transfer form to the local PF office. Your PF transfer will then be processed within 15 to 20 days.

Form 13 Submission Process

Please find the attachment of Form 13 and go through it. You can understand the process better. It is better to submit directly to the PF office after completing the formalities by both companies, rather than submitting it to your present HR department.

The first priority is your PF transfer. If the HR department of your current organization will handle it on their end, there is no need to waste your important time since you have recently joined the organization.

Best wishes for your new job.
