Are May 1st and October 2nd Mandatory Holidays for IT Companies?

Hello, I am working as HR in IT. Could you please let me know whether 1st May and 2nd October are mandatory holidays for IT companies? Thanks & regards, Amruta

Both of the mentioned days are mandatory holidays. They are mandated by the Maharashtra Bombay Shops and Commercial Establishments Act, and all these days are paid holidays: 26th January, 1st May, 15th August, and 2nd October.
