My name is Krishna Mohan. I worked as an ABM with one organization. Recently, I resigned from my position due to internal politics. My immediate boss pressured me to resign and promised to release my salary. However, they have not released my salary. How can I proceed to get my claims?

Very sad, Sai Sairivalli, to hear this. One mistake all employees make is to submit a voluntary "resignation." Remember, in many cases, companies do not terminate service and instead ask for resignation from employees. The catch is that they do not have proper and valid reasons for terminating your service, and they are aware that they can be taken to a court of law. If they fail to prove the "valid reason for termination," they face shame, compensation, and in some cases, they may need to reinstate the employee to the same position.

My suggestion is to send a legal notice through a lawyer.

You seem to be employed in Hyderabad. You can send a notice claiming your dues. Please check with the AP Shops and Establishments Act to see if it provides any remedy to recover the dues from the employer. Some Shops Acts might provide for it. If so, it affords you an expeditious and inexpensive remedy.
