Hi all,

I am an HR executive working in a Mumbai-based firm. I want to use psychometric testing for recruitment and selection purposes. I have tried using MBTI, but it is not giving me good results. Can anyone suggest a test that is specifically designed for recruitment and selection purposes?

Thanks and Regards,
Sujit

Hi Sujit,

Have you tried the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) test? You may also want to consider taking the PF16 test or using Thomas profiling tools such as Human Job Analysis, Personal Profile Analysis (i.e., Thomas PPA), and Team Analysis. Additionally, tests like FIRO-B, OPQ, Picture Test, and Ink Blot Test could be beneficial for you. However, it is essential to assess their relevance for the specific class or type of people you will be administering them to. Conducting a sample run or simulation with an experimentation group before final implementation would be prudent.

There are numerous vendors, such as Thomas Profiling Co., that can assist you in the installation and administration of these tests.

Best,
Rahul

Hello Sujit:

I want to use psychometric testing for recruitment and selection purposes.

I advise making a wise business decision.

I have tried using MBTI, but it is not yielding good results. The MBTI should not be used for employee selection, as per the publisher's instructions. Never ignore a test publisher's admonitions and instructions.

Can anyone suggest a test specifically meant for recruitment and selection purposes?

Yes, the ProfileXT. If you provide me with your email address, I'll send you the information.

Hi Sujit,

The best way out is to contact the individual vendor Co. and seek advice. They will, hopefully, guide you through the test sampling and beta testing (if any) as well as how to go about a test run. They will guide you on the relevance of the tests for a cross-section of employees, the administration, the results, and results interpretation.

Chow!
