I am a 24-year-old MBA student with prior experience in sales and operations. I am now pursuing my MBA and specializing in HR. I am inclined towards working in training and development. Please recommend if I should opt for this as my major in the final year or instead take recruitment and selection and then switch to training after gaining more years of experience. I am due for my internship this summer and am a little tense.
Please help.

I have a profound interest in the training and development department, but I am a little confused about the growth opportunities within it. I am certain that I have to start my career in HR with recruitment initially. It will only be after a few years of experience that I will be able to transition into training. Currently, I am in my first year of MBA and feeling uncertain about what to focus on. As I am preparing for my upcoming internship this summer, I am aiming to excel in training to gain an extra advantage during campus placements.

If you have an interest in T&D, I think you can follow your heart. I just attended a workshop in NLP, and one of the things I learned is that there are no "I have to" in our lives. So do not be sure that you have to start your career in recruitment.
