@Dinesh : Your opinion on recruitment is slightly flawed.
@Sofee :
Recruitment is a wide concept which encompasses Sourcing and Staffing. Recruitment is a process which begins after manpower analysis or after identifying need for human resource. It is a process which starts from Requisitiong of Staff uptill Induction and Orientation.
Sourcing and Staffing are sub sections which comes under recruitment concept.
A typical recruitment cycle includes
Requisition - Sourcing - Assessments - Negotiation - Selection - Staffing
Sourcing : CV screening, coordinating HR interviews, Validation of candidates.
Staffing : Joining Formalities, Induction & Orientation
Some professionals equates staffing as recruitment process. If said in right context it is true. Staffing would also mean entire process of fulfilling human recource needs of the company.
This above explanation is my personal understanding.
