Please, can anybody tell me about the legal, financial, and administrative impacts if we shift from on-roll employees to contract? Can anybody help me understand what legal requirements are needed to hire contract labor in the factory? Are contractual laborers paid through PF, ESI, LWW, and also receive a bonus? What are the other impacts if we transition to contract labor?

You can easily switch over to contractual manpower.
Important Points:
First, you have to settle the full and final dues of the employees you intend to transfer to contractor rolls. This includes their notice pay and other benefits that need to be paid.
If the number of employees exceeds 100, you must obtain prior permission from the Labour Department for this transition.
Form No. 5 must be issued to engage the contractors. The respective contractors will use this form for their registration formalities with the Labour Department.
ESI and PF provisions are applicable to contractual employees as well.
By transferring employees to contractual rolls, you do not absolve yourself from the responsibilities of a Principal Employer.
All records such as Form No. 26, PF, ESI Returns and Challans, and other statutory records must be maintained by the Contractor, with copies kept by the organization for inspection purposes.
It's crucial to note that you will be acting as the PRINCIPAL EMPLOYER.
Thank you.
