Since the year 2009, it has been a UGC requirement that before a research scholar is awarded a Ph.D. degree, he/she must publish a paper in a refereed journal.

Dear Shri Narasimhan, I regularly follow the links where you post your advice and recommendations on various issues in the management field. I rarely post articles since almost all of them seek ready and quick-fix solutions. I am from Chennai. After working with leading organizations for 20 years, I started an MSME enterprise in the HR field in 2005. Currently, I cater to small groups of clients successfully (again, leading ones in their respective areas). Besides this, I embarked on the academic side as a regular visiting faculty at two reputed universities in Chennai in 2008.
I have a passion for working on the academic side, and therefore, I completed my MBA degree with a first class after a gap of nearly 25 years. I have also registered for a Ph.D. in a reputed university in HR subjects. I am pursuing my academic interests at the age of 53 seriously. I firmly believe that it is never too late to learn and share in the teaching field.
May I request you to suggest some good and reputed journals in which I can try to publish articles to properly conduct my research work and seek inputs from other fellow members?
Regards,
V. Rangarajan
With respect to Prof. Wing Commander Gulshan Kumar for your inputs. Thanks for your link. I am not able to open the link.

Dear Rangarajan,
Thank you for your interest in my posts. I also took up research part-time in my mid-50s. Although I presented papers at refereed international conferences and published papers in journals, I did not finish my Ph.D. as my priorities changed mid-course. I used to be a very active Book Review Editor for a few journals on quality with Emerald Group Publishing. Now, due to becoming a grandfather and some physical problems, I am not as active with reviewing work. Nevertheless, I still have good contacts with the company. Emerald is one of the largest publishers of management journals. You may have seen my PowerPoint presentations on Author Workshop and Research Methodology at CiteHR.
Kindly see the journals at Emerald | HR, Learning & Organization Studies. I am sure there are journals on HR published by other companies such as John Wiley, Elsevier, etc. For example, see Guide for authors | Human Resource Management Review | 1053-4822 | Elsevier and Human Resource Management Journal - Wiley Online Library. It's a matter of checking in your library and choosing one that interests you.
Please feel free to pick my "empty" brain.
To save you the task of searching, I am attaching the PowerPoint presentations.
Regards.

You will be able to see the abstracts of most articles published by journal publishers. However, you can access full articles through your university library if they subscribe to those journals or to some other service provider. For examples of access to journals, please click on Emerald | Strategic Direction | Table of Contents | Volume 29 Issue 5 - Current Issue.

Thank you for the information, sir. However, our institute does not subscribe to these. Is there any other way to access valuable articles or journals, etc.? Please let me know. Thank you.
