I am working as a generalist. Whenever I go through attendance to credit salaries, I get confused between the salary period and the attendance period. Can I expect someone to help me clear my confusion with an example?
Thank you.

Hello! The attendance period should be from the 16th to the 15th of every month. To credit the salary well in time, i.e., by the end of the month, 15 days' salary is paid in advance by most of the corporates, assuming the presence of 15 days in advance. If there is any absence between the 16th and the 30th for which the salary is paid in advance, the absentees, if any, can be adjusted in the next month's salary.
In short, for salary calculation, attendance from the 16th to the 15th is considered to pay salary for a particular month. Advance salary paid for 15 days can be adjusted in the next month's salary.

Dear Mr. Diwakar,
The month may be decided by your company from 21-20 or 26-25 or 1-30/31, whatever it may be. Keep the salary month and attendance month at par, equal, which should not create any confusion in the minds of the employees.
After the closure of the month, the salary must be paid within 7 days in case of employee/worker strength below 1000 and within 10 days if the strength of employees/workers is above 1000. If you regularly update the attendance system at least twice a week, then you can effect the payment on the second or third day itself without any problem.
Where are you actually facing the problem? Never hesitate to seek clarification from anyone.
With warm regards,

In today's era of digital technology (where attendance is recorded digitally through biometrics or card swiping) and online banking, the salary period and the attendance period are similar. Software handles all the tasks with a click of a mouse button. Any adjustments can be made in the following months. However, our laws provide ample time limits to ensure that the two periods remain the same.
