Hi, I am Navnit, and I recently joined a BPO. I would like to know:

1. Under which act does a BPO come - the Factories Act, the Shop Act, or any other act?
2. What should be the leave policy for BPO employees working 26 days a month?

Kindly provide valuable replies as I need to prepare a leave policy for our upcoming organization.

Understanding BPO Regulations and Leave Policies

BPO is covered under the State Shops & Establishment Act. First, determine which State Shop Act is applicable in your case, and then review the leave provisions for different kinds of leaves. If you have employed women employees, also review the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961, for the grant of maternity benefits. A number of leave policies are provided by the members, so download and search for the leave policy on this site itself. Prepare a leave policy for your unit while considering the laws applicable to you. Please ensure that this policy is not contrary to the laws applicable to your unit.
